French Jr., Ph.D., recently heralded Silvanus Udoka, Ph.D., LSME, LSSBB, and the entire CAU School of Business (CAUSB) for once again securing the extension of their business accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) International.

鈥淭his reaffirmation of AACSB accreditation speaks to the academic rigor, innovation, and transformational impact of our School of Business,鈥 said CAU President George T. French Jr., Ph.D. 鈥淚t validates our mission to produce global business leaders who are prepared not only to compete鈥攂ut to lead鈥攊n a rapidly evolving economy. I applaud Dean Udoka and the entire CAU School of Business for their unwavering commitment to excellence.鈥

Earning and maintaining AACSB accreditation requires a rigorous internal commitment to excellence, guided by an AACSB-assigned liaison and a peer-review evaluation team. Every five years, schools undergo a continuous improvement review cycle, during which they must develop and implement a plan that aligns with AACSB鈥檚 accreditation standards. This process demands distinction in key areas, including curriculum development, strategic management and innovation, active participation of students, faculty, and staff, as well as excellence in learning, teaching, and academic and professional engagement.

We are proud to have received an extension of our AACSB accreditation for the maximum six-year period鈥 a testament to the talent and dedication of our faculty, campus leaders, staff, students, alumni, and friends,鈥 said Dr. Silvanus Udoka, dean of the CAU School of Business.  AACSB accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in business education, with only about five percent of the world鈥檚 schools offering business degrees at the bachelor鈥檚 level or higher earning this distinction. The CAU School of Business has proudly maintained AACSB accreditation since 1974鈥攖he longest-running accreditation for any HBCU.

Atlanta University, established in 1865 by the American Missionary Association, was the nation鈥檚 first institution to award graduate degrees to African Americans. Clark College, established four years later in 1869, was the nation鈥檚 first four-year liberal arts college to serve a primarily African American student population.
